Thanks for your FYI. All great nieces are involved in this matter. Bad executor claim is stated, because deceased relative's property is not selling for market value. All heirs are stating that property should sell for a higher price except the assigned executor and probate attorney. I've check with the IL. tax assessor and I can redeem the property by paying the back taxes of 11K by 8/6/16 under the IL state redemption annual sale. So why shouldn't I buy the property and keep the property in the family?!

Addendum:

1. Bad Executor is court appointed and the probate attorney was hired by my mother, who is now, deceased.
2. No one in the family wants to redeem the property for 11K except me.
3. If property sold for 17K, no heirs would see any monies from sale. The 17K would pay off the delinquent taxes, the attorney and real estate broker fees.
4. Buying the property from the state seems to be the best solution to this family mess, since no family members would get anything from the property sale through the real estate agent.
5. Yes, I'll get an attorney on the advice of all responders.

Thanks again for your input.

Respectfully,
ICB2150

Call the state and tell them you want to but the property. Ask them if you get clear title and the estate has no claim. I would think this will work and is completely outside of the estate problems.

Default Inheritance Property Update

The house was sold the day before it would have been lost to taxes but only netted about $3,000 per family hired probate attorney. This may have been the best deal that the inheritors could have gotten since no one in the family was willing to pool funds together to redeem property. I just feel the real estate agents listed the property too low from jump street, and perhaps, a 'back door deal" was going on amongst the probate attorney and real estate agent. Can't prove these thoughts' but here is the updates on my great aunt's home.

Sorry to hear that.
Unfortunately that’s what happens when people won’t work together even though they could all benefit.
