While it's understandable that you'd wish to err on the side of caution, and use an ATM when the bank is open, so any dispute/misunderstanding can be settled there and then, ATMs were developed so that you could gain access to cash at your convenience, i.e. when the bank is closed.

It's kind of hard to go into a bank when you work the same hours that they do. I sent them a message, and the problem was forwarded to the dispute department before I would have been able to call them on a break.
