Send out another one? I have the police report and everything but I am not sure if my job would allow for a second paycheck to be sent out. I am ****ing pissed because now I am behind on rent because of this incident that happened over the past weekend. It wasn't cashed at the bank either but at a check cashing place.

Ask your employer. They might provide you your second paycheck of the month in advance.

I can understand how upsetting this must be for you, but why would you expect your employer to pay you twice? It's not their fault that you were robbed.

yep , it would only be out of an act of kindness that they do anything for you . it certainly does not involve any responsibility on their side

No, they won't send you a second paycheck. If you had lost the check and they could stop payment on it, then yes, sending another would make sense. But, you cashed it and the money is gone from their account. They're not responsible for what happened after you did. Sending another one would be paying you twice. Perhaps you have insurance that would cover your loss?

Or a savings account

Given that the OP cashed his/her check at a check cashing place, I doubt he/she has a savings account at a bank or anywhere else. This post is why people should have a checking account so they don't have to carry around their pay in cash making them vulnerable to a total loss and why they should have an emergency fund. I suspect the OP has neither and is now in a bad position because of it.

Exactly, this is the only reason a company will do this. Because even if someone found the lost check, it's no longer any good. And though they will do this, they're not thrilled to have to go through this due to carelessness on the part of the employee.

OP, you need to be more careful. Why don't you have a checking/savings account?

If you do use one of those places you need to be aware who is around you, and certainly don't do it at night.

Most companies offer direct deposit.

Go to the police dept and see if they have any sort of victim's fund that could help.

Did you get mugged? Just wondering how you were robbed and how you can prove how much you lost.

A police report doesn't prove you were robbed. It proves you called the police and filed a report.
