The problem with NHS is that it's underfunded. There are a number of other single payer socialized medicine systems in the first world that actually work. The UK is kind of the middle ground between the cushy social democracies and the wild, wild west of the United States. In that middle ground, health care is a disaster because you're not spending enough on it..
I disagree. The core problem with all Western Medicine is it focuses on treating people after they get sick instead of focusing on lifestyle issues that keep them well. The U.S. is the worst example of this, but other Western counties follow the same model, albeit in less extreme fashion.

You mean all the preventatives like vaccines, antiseptics, chlorination, USDA, CDC and surgeon general recommendations regarding disease, diet, drinking and tobacco use?
