This question was posted on social media this morning and I'm thinking the person either has $70,000 or a 850 credit score and jealous of someone who has $70,000. So basically bad credit and lots of cash or good credit with not as much cash?
I would lean toward the $70'000 since I could always build up my credit.
Future cash flow is more important. I lean towards the 850 credit score because it implies a longer tenure of stable credit usage and most likely a stable income. And someone with credit that high can easily get more than 70k of credit liquidity.
70k in the hands of someone with trash credit implies to me they won't have the cash 70k for long and probably aren't good at replacing it.

Having 70k on hand is a bit different than 70k of credit terms. Also there could certainly be strategy with married couples with on tanked credit score
Cash and not even close. I've had access to tens of thousands of dollars in credit, 0% car loans, and 0% credit card offers with a 650 (when I started out with credit) credit score and a 780 (now) credit score. I don't see what 850 does that 700 doesn't.
Cash please.
