So, there's a big, national bank in the news again for doing terrible things to their customers, causing some of the customers to lose their cars.

If you hold accounts at the aforementioned bank, do you plan to stay with them?

Is there such a thing as a good, ethical bank?
Is there a better choice?

(The only other big bank I can think of is sort of America's flagship bank. And I don't care for them either.)

Yes. They are called credit unions. We haven't used a bank in many years.

Yep, we belong to a credit union as well. My husband's employer also has their own.
If I need to do something at the actual branch, both of them are seriously inconvenient though. But I guess I could learn to do my banking differently.

I've banked with wells and chase for long periods of time and never had issue with either. Often when people have issues with banks they are typcially a contributor to the problem

Good for you. But I don't really get what you mean about being a "contributor to the problem."

Meaning the customer is often the cause of the problem solely or at least a contributor to the issue

Yeah, that's what I thought you meant. I'm not so sure that's the case in what's happened with WF recently.
Banks can be pretty unscrupulous, hence my original question, I guess.

I've had good experiences with credit unions and small regional banks.

Sure the wells opening of accounts was an entire mess but your question about good banks, from a customers perspective is subjective and often one's bad experience is driven by the same person's behavior i.e. Not having enough money in your account to meet the min to avoid fees or not having direct deposit
