I can't even talk to an actual person at any of these credit bureaus. Every time it rings the lines cuts off and hangs up on me. Anyone actually able to talk to someone?

I froze mine and my wife's in minutes with all four agencies on the phone, all four were free for me, Experian and TransUnion charged $10 each for my wife's freeze and the other two were free, sad that we had to spend $20 for Equifax's screw up but crooks can do an awful lot with the info they stole, it is likely that the info they got has anything and everything that a person may have filled into any credit applications during their lifetime.

After the OPM data breach in 2015, I don't even worry myself about new hacks and breaches. My information on the SF-86 security clearance questionnaire has already been compromised and leaked, and that form essentially has my entire life documented on it. Nothing I can do at this point but hope some other poor bastard gets his identity stolen instead of me.

That's my sense of this additional breach! (Every time one turns around source of one's personal information is being hacked). It also seems like there is little or no recourse or assistance in clearing-up identity theft problems ... if/when one's online information is compromised!

Maybe the hackers should form a business that protects one's online identity. They seem to be smarter than those with legitimate businesses who are seemingly responsible for protecting our data!

I froze my credit at Experian and Transunion when the news was first announced. I have yet to be able to complete an online freeze at Equifax. Very frustrating.
