We once sued the builder of our home. I was told 99% of the cases settle out of court but the builder gambled that we would lose. So we went to court and won.
While working low paying jobs and trying to put myself through college, I found a newspaper machine that would give me 4 quarters every time I pressed the return button. Would only work 3 or 4 times and only on Sunday when the newspaper was $1. I made several dollars every Sunday for a few months until they fixed it.
Walked into a bar I was known at. Found a plastic envelope with 2 $20's a 1880 silver dollar and a set of small ruby earrings.
Once attended an auction. Bought a box of misc stuff and in it was a ceramic owl bank. I opened the rubber stopper and pulled out a $100 bill.
Went to a junkyard and saw several taxis. Checking the backseats, found $130 in various denominations. That was a fun day.
Three weeks ago decided to go for a weekend to the coast. Hit chinook winds. Playing "Let it ride" and bet $10 every spot and got three queens and the dealer dropped the fourth. Paid $1,900....Total for the day playing was $2,600.
My 20 yo daughter and I started an Etsy shop selling pins with pop culture quotes on them. It's been a grand success (in our eyes haha) from the very beginning, so we're going to keep it up. It's only one or two hundred dollars a month extra income for each of us, but there's no feeling quite like creating something from nothing and getting paid for it!
I just recently received a check for $589 dollars as a settlement from a class action lawsuit on a payday loan company. Totally unexpected.
