i was just going to say that i may get the ritz carlton card if it had a big sign up bonus but i now see its no longer accepting new applications.

i advised my mom to sign up for that card and replace her amex platinum card. of course, she gets the ritz carlton and doesnt cancel the amex. these moms dont want to listen.

Yep. Mine went through the roof once I started churning.

Get 2 credit cards in case 1 doesn't work. But yes, use 2 different ones to maximize savings. I have the Visa Costco card that gives you 3% on restaurants and gas. I have a Mastercard that gives you 2% back on everything else. And I have a Target Redcard to use (obviously) at Target only.

Two credit cards are enough for me because beyond that, it's too confusing and having to log in and out all the time to 3+ credit cards is a huge pain.

I use 4 cards for maximum rewards. One has a fee but there are many ways to offset it during the year so it's basically irrelevant. Totally worth it.

I just turn on notification whenever there is a charge on my card.

That's what I do. I get notified when anything over $.01 gets charged to my account. It's a quick and easy way to be able to track my purchases and get notified of fraud.

OP, I recommend 2 or 3 good cards. One with a flat 2%, 1 with rotating and 1 for travel. If you don't travel much, don't get that one. BOA is coming out with a pick your rotating 3% category card. It may be worth a look.

Quote:
Beginning Jan. 14, customers will be able to apply for the new Bank of America Cash Rewards credit card. This no annual fee card will allow customers to pick which of the following categories to earn 3% cash back on each month:

Gas
Online shopping
Dining
Travel
Drugstores
Home improvement and furnishing
Card holders will also earn 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs. They’ll earn 3% and 2% on the first combined $2,500 spent in combined choice category/grocery store/wholesale club purchases each quarter, and an unlimited 1% back on all other purchases.

In my opinion, you should use those earned credit card reward points on one card only. One of the most important aspects of this is you can keep track of the usage of those credit reward points. Furthermore, the targeted spending brings more credit card benefits too, it is always better to use those reward on one card only. More info: https://www.emiratesislamic.ae/eng/p...card-benefits/

It’s been that way for a long time now. The sapphire cards are 48 months
