I've just received my free annual credit reports & am curious to see who has ever gotten the Experian credit score vs. the FICO score?? Which one is viewed more? Does it even matter? I've heard the FICO score is a lot more popular & that's what most lenders/creditors look at. I'm not planning on taking out a loan or anything of the sort anytime soon. The only thing is I will be getting a new apartment soon. I have excellent credit & my score should be in the mid 700 range.

Any opinions either way??

I've used Experian and Transunion. (The monthly paid versions.) Then I went MyFico. I've never used Experian or Transunion again (the paid versions). MyFico is the closest you can get to what the banks get. The other ones (to me) were sort of a waste. I mean, they have some nice tracking tools and all, but all I really want is the score that means something. And their scores didn't mean much. If you don't need to see your real score for something RIGHT NOW, then the free ones are fine. I use them every year, just to check and see what they say. But, when I want to go somewhere and actually buy something and have confidence in what my score actually is, I pull a MyFico score.

There you go.

Edit. Forgot to mention that canceling Experian was like cancelling a cell phone. Canceling Transunion was like canceling electrical service.
One took ~ 10 minutes of hassle. One took ~60 seconds of no hassle. Some places act like your time is not worth anything. My off time is worth exactly as much as my work time. So, if you waste my time, you waste my money. And I hate wasting money.

None of the scores such as the Experian Vantage score, etc. are worth anything. Only your true FICOs matter; they are what lenders see. Buying any other score is a waste of money.

it depends which fico score you are comparing.some like the fico 8 free bank card scores go to 900 not 850 and they are not comprehensive scores ..they only count credit card use heavy .
