Default Need Credit Advice for Messed Up Credit due to an old Eviction

I just got my credit report to see if anything has changed and it is the same. I have a bad debt for $1,522 for an eviction I had two years ago due to unemployment. I previously had great rental history for fifteen years. I tried to set up payment with the lawyer, in the first case, but they refused. It is a civil judgement. I also have another apartment issue caused by my breaking a lease two weeks early, due to the fact that I had to leave because of an abusive boyfriend. I left this place very clean and in great condition, but they won't budge on the amount for the broken lease.

I need advice on how to clean this up on my credit and if I can. Is there anyway? I know there are fake places that say they can, but I do not trust them. I called consumer credit counseling, which is a legitimate place, and they told me it would not matter to rental places, if I paid or did not pay the amounts past due. It is still an eviction and broken lease. I know that the info is on my credit until 2013, according to my credit report. Anyone out there have any experience or advice with this? Thanks.
