Instead of book stores, get your books, movies, and music from your local library.
Instead of health clubs, go to a city recreation center or in home calestinic exercises.
Always use your own bank's ATM to withdraw cash.
Use generics when possible (some food items just won't do in generics)
Install an outdoor or attic mount antenna and cut the cable. If you have an HDTV, you'll get better picture quality with antenna.
If you have a land line phone, drop your service to the bare basics.

You are so right. People can cut costs in so many ways and they don't even realize it. They think "it's only a couple of dollars" but they don't realize how that can add up.

BTW- I Love, Love my library. I haven't bought a book, cd, or a dvd in years.

I'll add some more.
1. Make your own coffee. Really it's not that hard.
2. Cook your own food and eat at home.
3. If you can't pay for it with cash then "Don't buy it".

Learn to have a lttle personal strength and use the credit card companies money while also getting cashback by paying the bill when it comes due.Recognise what is a good price on food and use coupons. Check the price by using a calulator before buying larger packaging because it appears cheaper. Look at package sizes when comparing.Don't get stuck on national brands;try the small company and store brand before deciding which is best to you.Always shop with a list and avoid buying things on impulse.Rarely do grocery stores have good prices on houswhold goods.

Glass cleaner is expensive. Save the empty bottle and buy a gallon of windshield washer fluid. Its pretty much the same thing and WAY cheaper.

Dollar stores.

You can save money on fuel by ensuring that your tires are properly inflated...

Seriously, tho... Cook for yourself everyday. Eating out is going to be at least 500% more expensive per person, per meal than eating at home unless you are eating out at McDonalds, in which case health care is going to be at least 500% more expensive per person, per year.

Get rid of your credit cards and get disciplined with your debit card. Set a weekly or monthly petty cash budget, debit that amount at the start of every week/month. Do not exceed that budgeted amount. Swiping a debit or credit card doesn't hurt. Spending cash does hurt and you keep better track of where the money is going and how fast when you are watching a ball of cash dwindle.
