Just because there is a 'due date' for mailing them out....doesn't insure employers will meet it. You would THINK there is a fine out there in Tax Land, but there really isn't any. If you don't get your W2 before the last day of tax filing, which is in April, then you are supposed to use IRS
Form 4825. IF you are efiling online, see IRS site for free online filing sources, you can just use the figures from your last check (year to date) or figure the total out yourself.
I work for a brokerage firm and our clients' 1099 statements aren't being mailed until February 17th at the very least due to an IRS extension that was granted. (Don't know if this helps at all, since it has nothing to do with W-2s!)
