News flash, if you're lucky someday you will make it there!!!!!
Bet you OLD Dad really loves you anyway...
Ummm.....I don't hate seniors, and my Dad has passed away.
And....since when have you hated kids? ("kids running up and down the isles screaming all of the time"). I'm sure your grandkids wouldn't be happy to hear you talk that way!

So....why do you write checks? Honestly curious.
My grandkids behave very well...
"Honestly"... I still use checks because I don't owe anyone other than the monthly bills such as elect., gas, water...and that's the way I pay them. And about 6 years ago my son had 4 thousand dollars taken from his checking account because someone stole his card number at a restaurant..He got it back but it took months to do so...
Another reason.....did you know it's up to the store if you do or do not use a pin number? I found this out one day using my wifes debit card...I was putting gas in her car and it did not ask for the pin number, I asked her about it and she told me not every where asked for it. Unless the banks have changed that, you are wide open to have your bank account cleaned out.. And it's easier to steal your ID thru cards then it is on checks..

Fair enough. There are risks to using electronic cards, true, although our bank does have a limit of how much we are responsible for if the card is used fradulently. At the gas station they ask for a billing zip code, but I wonder about that- it seems like you could guess, since most people gas up close to their house.
I still write checks because I still have three boxes of the darn things, and I paid for them so I might as well use them. I auto pay my bills online so the grocery store is about the only place left I can use them. At this rate I figure I have enough checks left for another four years.
But it's good, I have my check filled out and my license in hand before I get to the cashier, they zip it through the reader to print it and I'm outta there. Don't see that it takes that much longer than using debit and having to put your PIN in. I do use u-scan for small purchases though.
I admit I'm a dinosaur. I still use checks or cash for purchases, credit cards are mostly for emergencies, and I still read books and newspapers.
