Default AMEX wants to verify my finance

and they want my permission to pull up my tax documents for verification purposes. Since I've always paid off my balance every month, I don't consider I deserve this. And since I have more credit cards than I actually need, I'll just ignore them, if they want to close my account, so be it.

I'm good customer because I have other options. If they think they could just redirect their childish tantrum from heavily indebted individuals to me, bring it on. I have cash in hands, I can close down all my accounts and will do it if they think they can screw me over.

Take the initiative and close the account yourself in protest if you feel strongly about it.

Yup - if you do not comply, they will close the acct themselves. You do NOT want that on your credit report - better for it to show that YOU closed it.

Sounds very strange to me. What would pulling your tax documents tell them and what kind of "verification" is this?

Are you sure this is not some kind of phishing scam?

Certainly ignore it. Or better still, call up Amex and find out more.

They want me to give them signed 4506T forum. I called them, it's genuine request from AMEX. I don't know why they want this from me cuz I've been using their cards for 2 years and they never requested anything from me, not even when I applied. Now after I've been a customer with 100% perfect record for 2 years, they want to pull this crap on me? No way in hell, I just called them and cancelled all my cards with AMEX.

That was very interesting. Thanks for the link.

I only have one credit card which is an Amex. No Visa, Mastercard or any other. I have been using this card for about 10 years and, like you, pay the balance of every months. To date, I have been very happy with Amex. But if they try to pull the same thing on me that they have pulled on you, I would close the account instantly.
