Looking back at all the email correspondence, I'm kind of ashamed that I didn't catch this earlier. The English, while not atrocious, wasn't very good (or consistent), among other things, like the occasional references to Jesus and so forth. And I violated Craigslist's number 1 rule - deal locally and in person!
Oh well, no loss involved other than a few moments writing emails and walking to the door to sign for the UPS delivery of the "check."

I dont know how to ask this without it seeming like I am making fun of you. I dont mean to but this scam is as old as God. It's written about in every media, mentioned on TV, in big giant red text on every Craigslist page, the list goes on. Do you live in a box? How on earth have you not heard of this Nigerian 419 scam?
Ebola Monkey Man: Nigerian 419 Scam This will teach you how to scam them Nigerians right back. Play them for weeks or months. I have so much fun with these scammers. I make them wait at the Western Union pick up for hours. I write them saying I sent it and to go now. Then come back 5 hours later and threaten my life cause it never came. You calm the situation and say sorry I dont know what happened, I did send it. But Mr Nigerian I will go do it again right now. You go wait for it.
He goes and waits for hours at the Western Union pick up and starts steaming at the gills. Look at that web site. There are several simular to it and all teach you how to trick and pizz them off.
