I don't make much though, so saving is going to be almost impossible. I work about 30-80 hours per two weeks, get paid every two weeks and the amount is from $300 to $800 sometimes. I worked out over past checks and I make roughly an average of $921/mo. I still live at home and here are the bills I pay.
Rent - $450
Car - $250
Car Ins. - $84 - I managed to get that paid off for the year, so yay
Cable - $110 - My mom wanted me t pay this for some reason, so I am
See, can't really afford to do much and somehow I've managed to do just that. I do have another source of income, but that will be gone in a few weeks and I don't want to mention it here in case I get yelled at about it. But it's going away, so I'm trying not to included that in my total monthly income. Once that goes, then yea, I won't get to eat out no more, so that solves that problem.
I've been trying to get some certifications, but there's just no money for me to pay to take the exam right now. I have found some better jobs, but they all need an A+ cert and I can't afford to pay for it

You could try picking a car within your means that you can pay for free and clear, that would eliminate your car note and drop the insurance measurably. I cannot understand why someone who earns less than $1000 a month thinks it is reasonable to blow over 30% of that on having a car they can ill afford.
Don't even get me started about cable. Cable is not a necessity, it is a luxury. Stick to the basics and saving will become as breezy as a walk in the park!

I was looking at a car that I could pay off in one payment. But my mom and grandfather were like, no you need a car that won't fall apart in a month. Get a new/used car. So, I've got it now, don't go on about how I shouldn't of got it. I do like it though.
As for cable, if I didn't NEED it I wouldn't have it. Plus, it's my mom who has it, I NEED it for work. She just makes me pay it for her since it's for my work. I work from home so yea, I need internet/cable for what I do.

Make your own lunch the night before and put in the fridg. Just don't forget it before going to work.....
Pay yourself first every payday, no less than 10% of your gross pay and put in savings....IN A BANK so it is not easy to spend it...

Here is how I do my budget....
$680 take home pay every two weeks so $1,360 a month
Out of that, I have $460 a month for rent, $45 for a wireless broadband card, $38 a month for car insurance, $3 a month for skype telephone. I then budget $10 a week for gas, and $10 a day for food, beer etc. This leaves me $494 after all my bills. Technically, I could be saving all that.

Is there any way that you could ditch the cable? That'd be $110 right there. Also, not having the car payment would help you a lot. How much longer do you have to go on paying the car for?

You pay yourself first. Set up a monthly budget and tell your money where it is going to go, instead of it flying out of your billfold without you having a clue. If you still live at home, don't have any other debt, saving should not be too difficult. Taking food to work will save you a bunch. Eating out will bust your budget very quickly. It is just a matter of making saving the priority. Your problem is not your income, it is your spending behavior. It is time you grow up and gain some responsibility.
