Exclamation BEWARE of credit card scams...

I was reviewing my bank statements and noticed a reappearing charge and thought it was odd as I didn't recognize the company whatever.
It was from a
MVQVALMAX....I did some research and got their phone number.
I also reserched them on line and the first clue that something was phony was the website stated.."if you are questioning a charge on your cc"..
I called the number and listened to recordings and one said I had "signed" up under an email that I don't use...How they got my cc number is a mystery...
BUT 19.95 charge for the last 5 months.
I finally spoke to someone and she said they would reverese the last charge..and Like...not one word of argument....
I called my bank and filed a complaint and will send in the paper work to get all charges reversed.
Also, I was supposed to get $10.00 cash + other crap which never happened.

My bank also said beware of those "Free" credit reports etc. as there is "hidden" written agreements to charge you for "other" things.

Please read your bank statements carefully...and beware of signing up on line for anything.

It's terrible when scamming is now a business model.

Companies such as that one and Trilegiant are like sucker fish that attach themselves (legitimately) to merchant websites. Usually at the point of sale they will offer things like free trials for different types of services, gift items or money gifts, etc. The sad thing is that most of the customers on the merchant website don't realize that it is not offered by the particular merchant they are ordering from, and, those customers don't read the fine print where it states they will be charged if they fail to cancel any free trials, etc.

There are also some creditors that include offerings from those companies in with the billing statements. Some times those offers come in the form of small checks. Again, many people that are suckered by them had failed to read the terms.
