Default What is your life style, What life style do you prefer?

I'm interested in knowing different users lifestyle. Simply select ( vote) what discription is more similar to your lifestyle, then post what lifestyle you would prefer.

Which discribes your lifestyle?
1. Live at or near poverty line, familier with section 8 and funds given by the government.
2. Live slightly above poverty line, no funds by government with a secure/ sketchy job.
3. Likely a college student slightly in debt, or living off of a relative ( guardian etc...).
4. Largely in debt, likely a college student or once was, perhaps also in graduate school, likely relate also to option 2.
5. Caring for a small or large family ( children or not), do not live near poverty line, income may be seen as average.
6. Not a guardian of anyone (children, family etc...) do not live near poverty line, may have been a recent college graduate.
_________________________
And more extreme options (options I'm really interested in knowing if one have such lifestyle)
7. High rise condo ( or house), not a guardian of anyone, likely post pictures on flickr.com ( parts of the world you've explored), great job payment.
8. Some may over react and claim you live in a mansion, able to support different scholarship funds, likely or once was a guardian.

I guess I found myself not being able to give a better discription of all the different lifestyles.
Simply after voting explain your lifestyle, and explain the lifestyle you would like.

I'm pretty much a 3.
I'm a college kid and have a part time job but for the most part I depend on my mom. I live with her and she pays for the majority of the food.
I sometimes go out and buy my own groceries, I pay the cell phone bill (my phone and her phone), and I buy the majority of my clothes.

I won't have kids and I plan to live a comfortable yet simple life. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a house or car because I plan to travel a lot.

I am having a little difficulty interpreting where I would fit in your options. I have income fairly significantly above "average", rent an apartment (by choice). I have a son who is 21 but is still living at home-he works, but I basically provide most of his "basic" support (ie housing, utilities, food). I graduated college about (yikes!) 15 years ago. I could travel to other parts of the world, but I don't like long plane rides. ;-)

I pretty much have the lifestyle I would want already. Sure I could make more money, but I can live perfectly fine on what I make now. Lines become arbitrary. I would never desire to be a mega-millionaire-that much money comes with its own headaches.

I may one day buy a home, but not in a big hurry to take on the astronomical cost of maintenance and/or renovation. And in this part of town, while prices have come down, they still border on what I think are well...ridiculous.

I can pretty much afford what I want when I want-within reason. I have been with my job for 15 years and like what I do. I absolutely love where I live in NE Phoenix/N Scottsdale. If and when I do buy, it will definitely be in the neighborhood I rent in. The weather and lifestyle are absolutely perfect. I live in the part of town that is sort of "live like you are on vacation". Some of my neighbors are golf courses, resorts, high end car dealers and more restaurants than I could even count. I guess that is my theme-living like I am on vacation and loving it.

I don't think your categories cover everyone. Where is the typical suburban family with 2 kids and a dog. Also you left out above average income but not rich.

Also it would be easier to see the results of the poll if the description was next to the category numbers at the top.

I would say I'm a 7, but I don't post pictures on flickr.com (Still trying to figure out *why* you had that in there!).

What I would prefer is ... retirement

Like others, I think there are some categories missing from your poll.

Reviewing replies and poll
_____________
I guess I added flickr.com since I review the pictures often. I myself would like to explore the world, don't wan't children ofcourse, live in a high rise condo, great job, and great salary...
____________
I can't imagen what other options I would be missing ( though encourage everyone to also post your lifestyle, and which you prefer), though I did assume I left out a few I should have mention. Though easily 5 and 8 can go for one in a suburb, dog, and 2 children.

You can live very well and not be in debt. Although I suppose, technically I would fall into category #2, but I can assure you that event though my dh and I live well on only about $18k a year - we live VERY well on it. I would have like to have seen a category like.... Frugal but comfortable. Debt free (or nearly so), childfree, and enjoying life to the max! That would have been the category I would have chosen.
