"The last thing I would ever do if I won anything is tell anyone."

IF I played and won that would be me...having said that, my home is fully fenced with 2 German Shepherds inside it...they love things that squeak.

I thought if someone won the lottery it is public info and the winners name will be released/published?

Just have to hope the relatives miss the news story.

It is my understanding that lottery winnings can be claimed through a blind trust in many states, which protects a winner from public disclosure.

Agreed. It varies state by state. For example, in Ohio, a blind trust can claim the prize. In Illinois, they reserve the right to use your inage under the laws setting up the lottery.

Once many yrs back i made the mistake of telling a few people how much money i saved up while in the army in germany for 2 yrs. Within a short time more then a few so called friends were asking me for a loan. When i said "no" needless to say they avoided me at all costs.

I can handle saying NO. This is one problem I'd like to have.

I think it's safe to say that if you suck at handling money before you win, you will suck at handling money after you win.
