What is the smallest amount of grocery-money you and your family have survived on for an entire week?

A few weeks ago we were really hurting and we survived on 25 bucks for the week. Gas and food!

It depends on how far back in time you'd consider. Years in the past I have done that $25 thing, but not lately. Groceries cost more now for one thing. I'd say about $300 a month is as low as I have gone in the last couple of years.

Our budget has always been as monthly.

In a consistant year to year manner, we operated on a $200/month food budget while raising children [including toiletries].

Now we are on less, as our children are grown.

When I was living in an apartment with a couple friends. I could spend $25 on groceries and it would last me almost two weeks.

We dont really budget but I would say we spend about $150 a week in groceries and $200 a week in dining out on the weekends. There are 3 of us though, I am sure it would depend on the size of the family

If you spend $800.00 month dining out where do you dine ? It sure isnt fast food. Must be nice.

In mid 2000's my wife and I would survive on $100/month total so $50 each per month eating lots of pasta, bread, etc. Now we're up in the mid-200's for two, eating much more meat (without hormones) and healthier products. I also leave for 3-4 days at a time and spend around $10-$15 for those 3-4 days when I bring my cooler, that amount is also included in the above figures.
