Default Is Macy's Credit Dept in India?

I had a problem with my Macy's credit card, called a few times in the last week. Every agent I spoke with had an Indian accent. I did have a problem understanding and got nowhere fast with customer service. With financial issues, as with medical, you want to be understood.

You can always request to speak to a rep that is located in the US. Normally when I call if I can understand the rep and the rep understands what I'm calling about then I continue that call. If the rep has a thick accent that I cannot understand then I always ask to speak to a US rep and I've always been transferred. (idk if I get an actual US rep, but I always get one without an accent after being transferred)

I would also follow up with a letter to the Executive Staff of Macy's and any other company. It is quite appalling that you/we are spending our hard earned money with a company here in the US but they are so pompous to put that same money back into another country by paying it's people and force us to speak with someone in another country (that doesn't speak English well) to solve our concerns/problems when we have SO, SO many here struggling and needing jobs.

I worked for Macy's Credit, and have family that still works there. They DO have call centers in America (including the local one here in Clearwater) and if you request to speak to an American, they will transfer you over.

I'd definitely make some complaints as well. The customer service reps and their immediate supervisors are aware of how unhappy people are, but management remains pretty much blissfully ignorant.

Yup, India it is - how many in India shop at Macy's? I tried to get an American person and was told I would end up back in India.

One day late with a $40 payment and within four days I had TEN follow up calls from collections - didn't even ask why I was late otherwise would have told them my Mother was in the hospital. Told them I would be in within 7 days to pay the account in full on the first call - but still another 9 phone calls within 4 days - "MAFIA" style collection techniques!

I'm not saying don't shop at Macy's just don't open a credit account!!!!

Forget MACY'S since they've taken on an Indian Bank as their financial partner their whole operation has change to a third world company(yes India is third world to us, (maybe not to asia) Do not pay your credit card bill to anyone but to Macy's direct from your statement. Even if you pay online they lose or delay the payment, the company is what Block Busters was years ago, when 30% of their revenue was late payments.

I can't stand it when companies outsource their service to India. You can never get an Indian customer service rep to do anything outside of the box. If I get put through to an Indian, I either ask to be transferred or I hang up and try again.
