you own the home she lives in..i do not get this...after a life time,she has npthing,but nothing..i do not understand some americans?did she achieve nothing?did you take her home and now you put her in the nursing home..this is unbelievable..80 years and she has nothing but debts...how come?has she never worked...?did he rhusband not work???sorry is private questions..but i cna not imagine a german having after 80 years nothing,but nothing...we handle money way more different,then americans...more financially responsable...

My wife went through a similar situation with her mother. After my wife's mother died the credit card companies tried to 'shame' my wife into paying her mothers debt. Once she made it clear to them they had no right to dun her for a debt she was not responsible for, they finely went away.

Not gonna happen. Social Security cannot be touched by creditors. The only ones who can get that our some government entities like the IRS.

I stand by my original statement. The OP is not responsible for his mothers debts and the mother has no means to pay them. Loaning her money was just simply a bad business decision.

Your debts die with you, thats why cc companies dont give credit cards to older folks as much.

Only if there is no estate. CC companies like any other debtors must be paid from the assets of any estate. Heirs get what is left.

Default father's retirment

My father is 80 and in poor health ,he mental forgetful and hasn't paid his credit cards, I have taken over his finances, can the cc companies get his retirement? I know they can't get his ss,but retirement
