It looks like a meat market to me...so I'm guessing they are dead...and that the shaved one was soon after the photo was taken. But in all fairness some cultures eat what we here in the U.S. consider pets. So I woundn't slap the guy either.

I agree mom. Its easy to jump on people about what they eat, especially when its propoganda for people like PETA etc. I wouldnt eat a cat, but if they do, well then i guess they do. No different than eating a cow IMHO.

you must not have any cats in your household.i have 6 cats & they are my "kids" to me just like lots of other people with cats & even dogs.

Your cats are your kids. But that is not their culture...obviously these cats are raised for food. Many rabbit lovers who have pet rabbits would not eat rabbit. I have ducks, and many folks eat duck, mu ducks are my babies, but if someone chooses to eat ducks...so be it, not my call. I would not let them eat my ducks...

I would never eat any animal that eats meat...to me that is gross, forget the pet side of it.

No one is generally going to eat a pet, that is why this is so hard to see.

I am not going to look at the picture, but based on the replies, I can guess what it is. It's funny timing because we just had a client in with her dog, and during her appointment, she mentioned that she is going on 2 week trip to China and one of the things we were talking about is that people raise puppies as pets and then kill them and eat them! Unbelievable to us, but that's why there are different cultures in the world...we are all very different. I find the thought of eating my pets terrifying, but I am sure we do things here that other cultures would not understand too.

I try hard not to be culturally imperious when I'm abroad but I have to say that emotionally I cannot help but believe I'm morally superior to anyone who would eat a dog.

Default What about cows?

They are considered sacred animals to other cultures and we eat them

rotten.com is a horrible, rotten place that I have not gone to in years. There is nothing good on that site.

Without being disrespectful to you (and anyone else) James, I hate cats. I think theyre disgusting and smell terrible. I am allergic to them also.
