OP - I'm not trying to be funny, but that's a bit like asking, "How long is a piece of string?"

Age of horse, temperment or even breed of horse, environment the horse went from, environment the horse went to, etc. etc. etc. are all going to play a part in any "guesstimate".

LOL, but you can still measure a piece of string if you have a tape measure.

Yes, but not all pieces of string are going to be the same length.

Horses can be a good bit like people, some are better at change than others! They are creatures of habit. We have 5 at our place, spend lots of time with them. They all travel well and home is where ever we hang the bucket and hay bag, but I think the key is somewhat in your relationship with them, they need to feel secure in your presence.

You don't understand the string metaphor?

We can't measure your horse. We have no details about your horse.

We only know it's a horse. Horses are individuals.

No two horses are the same. All horses adjust differently to new environments.

Give some specifics about your horse and you might get more helpful answers.

Is this a long distance move like from Florida to S Dakota. or 15 mins down the road to a different boarding barn.

If your just trying to see which boarding barn your horse likes better you should be able to tell in a couple days to a month.

If its a long distance move with a climate change it will probably take a season to adjust hair growth, ect. You might need to blanket or clip the horse to keep him comfortable until he gets used to the climate
