Does anyone out there have experience of getting rid of fleas which we can only think have come in on a second hand sofa we bought( cat owner had sofa)?
We have a 10 month baby so we need something that is not harmful to the baby?
The only thing that is going to work is getting a flea bomb or calling a local exterminator to treat it and the rest of your house. I would recommend the flea bomb route - maybe do that on a weekend and stay at a hotel or go away for the weekend so that by the time you get back, everything is aired out. Flea infestations in furniture can be a lose-lose situation. Good Luck!
A flea bomb is a can of pesticide that designed to kill fleas. What you do is buy the product, read the instuructions, set the thing off and leave it. But you have to be out of the house. And the instructions on the product are to be adhered to.
But in your case I'd call an exterminator because once you have fleas in the sofa you have them all over the house.
another way unless real bad is take cake pan and dawn dish soap so get bubbles put under a light near where infestation is at night they jump at light think for the heat fall in and drown with the soap.
Try BORAX.....sprinkle on sofa......and work it into the fabric and crevices with a brush or broom.....let stand as long as possible....then vacuum thoroughly. See the link>>>>>
