the image is "doctored" a bit (the agnle and position makes him look even bigger than he is) BUT hes a "german" giant (an offshoot of the flemish
the fleish is the worlds largest recognized breed and at maturity averages 25lbs...but the german and continental giants (not recognize a a breed in the usa) can get much larger.
I belive a 50lb rabbit currently holds the title but after seeing picture i alo think the current record holder is also overweight (and to me thats also cheating lol)
ive never been aorund the contienetals (essentially flemmish outside of the flemish breed standard) but i do know flemish giants are REAL sweethearts...
THAT image is NOT photoshopped and is of a flemish next to a sheltie...25lbs for a flemish is NOT unheard of
and This image is not photoshopped
Darius is the worlds biggest rabbit and weighs in at 50lbs and over 4 ft long! (hes considred a gontinental giant rabbit they get bigger than the flemmish but arnt recognized as a breed at this time.
i DO know flemmish make WONDERFULL pets, as house pets they tend to be sweet natured, get along with retty much everyone and everything and are generally quiet and "lazy" as a breed. they dont do as well living their life outdoors however, due to thier size they need an extensive amount of space and dont do well on the wire floors common in american rabbit "habitats" flemish do tend to be inactive so they need to have lots of interaction or they get bored overeat and tend to die early...
That is so cute, Foxy! Looks a bit like my mini rex, only about 10x bigger . How long do Flemish giants usually live? My little bunbun is about 10 yrs old...it's going to break my heart when she passes
