Everyone with pets should have this number by the phone:

ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center

1-888-426-4435

There is a $65 charge for the call. It's worth every penny.

I've had to call twice. Once because Jonas got into a container that had held clorox wipes. This was the same day he came down with a really, really bad ear infection and was so vestibular he couldn't walk, so we wanted to be sure the clorox residue couldn't cause dizziness or anything. The other was because he got up on the counter and ate a pill that had been left out. I don't remember what it was, but I needed to know if he should be forced to vomit/go to the vet hospital.

You do need a credit or debit card on hand to pay but, as catsmom says, it is absolutely worth it.
