Crows will sometimes gang up on a predator. I've seen them go after hawks in a group. Crows are also very intelligent (there's that thing about them solving a problem by making a tool).
They would make good pets, 'though I'm told it's illegal to own one. It became illegal when so many early settlers in the US would capture them for pets. They also have vocal chords very similar to ours, so they can mimic a human voice better than parrots.
I think they are friends with the black cat and the black and white was seen as a common enemy. At first it looked as though the black and white cat were the stronger and I felt sorry for the black cat, then he persevered and with the birds attacking it probably got just too weird to the strange cat.
Maybe it's not that the crows are smart - maybe it's that they're really stupid. They figure since the one cat is all black, he must somehow be some sort of crow too!
Cool video. Can't wait till my wife wakes up so she can see it.

Could be, but I don't think so. There is a video somewhere of a crow with a ball, rolling it back and forth with a dog that is not black. I think they are really gregarious.
How can it be a cool video when a cat is getting beating up by a gang? I can't even watch it based on the description.
Hopes, I rarely watch nature shows because I can't stand to see most animals hurt (alligators, somehow, don't affect me so much). It's safe to watch. I would never post anything that was REALLY violent. I've seen two cats in bigger tussles that came out unscathed.
I trusted you and watched it. Wow! Those birds are awful. I feel bad for the white cat. It's like the birds instigated the fight. The white cat was twitching its tail at the birds, and the black cat seemed to think the tail twitching was meant for a cat fight. And those damn birds were standing there yelling, "Fight! Fight! Fight!" like it was middle school cafeteria. Thanks for sharing that. It's sad, interesting and funny all at the same time.
