I just got back from visiting a friend who has 3 cats. Her house is clean and does not stink of kitty litter (the cats do their business in the back yard and she scoops up every evening). She also has lint-rollers here 'n' there to catch hairs because she is OCD when it comes to cleanliness. It does not appear to take her a lot of time or effort.

yes i know, it's my fault for being a good friend and willing to help. never again

//EDIT: totally forgot to mention. in addition to the fur, i have probably AT LEAST ONE GALLON of pee on my $40k+ hardwood floors
Dogs don't pee that much.

Crate the dog while you are out of the house. Why is it wandering around peeing everywhere?

I have 8 dogs. Yes I have to vacuum daily. I didn't choose my dogs, they chose me.

All were throw away dogs. I couldn't turn my back on them.

this dog is VERY playful

last night it peed about half a gallon in 1 sitting after drinking tons of water due to lots of playing. i should of seen this coming

otherwise, it had 2 accidents during the day today due to excitement (as some dogs do). it is not well trained

why do/did you choose that dog? why do you tolerate it? you know everything they touch becomes destroyed, esp your most prized possession - your property, your house. every moment of every second your dog is lowering the value of everything you own. i've seen cars have more fur on them then actual cushioning. every moment they are causing you more headache because you have to babysit and clean up after them. every moment they are giving you more work to do, more effort, more fatigue. i just don't get it, WHY?!?
You shed just like the animals, why do you tolerate it, you know everything you touch becomes destroyed, especially your most prized possessions. Your property, your house, every moment of every second your hair and skin are lowering the value of everything you own.

At times it is best to tend to one's own life and make sure it is perfect before casting the stone.......

In regards to your original question of *why*........because I want to.

So you are only taking the dogs out to pee twice a day?!? Well, no wonder it's peeing inside. Good grief, they need to go out much more often than that! Do you only pee twice a day?!

Poor dogs.

My peke is a light tan color, my carpet is the same light tan color,
problem solved! (Really it just happen to work out that way, the
shedding doesn't show so you have to vacuum often)
