I never really thought about how hard it would be to be a "rural" vet like that.
Does make you wonder about vets for the cows, pigs, and sheep that end up on our table. Thanks for sharing.

Add to that the fact that Veterinarians have effectively the same education as "human" Doctors (except Doctors only learn one species while Veterinarians learn over a dozen), yet Vets typically make at least 30% less... it's easy to see why there is such a shortage! Iowa State University is offering tuition forgiveness to students who graduate and practice in Iowa, and still isn't able to fill the need.
