I heard about this, I think if the airline fired the stewardess then it would be admitting guilt. The stew is lying and saying they didn't know there was a dog in there, but bags don't bark. Sad story, I hope the stew does not get away with it. Some stews get drunk on power so they abuse their position. I'd rather be thrown off a flight and arrested than let them kill my dog, and if I had been a passenger I would have spoken up.

I read about this when it happened. The passenger was an idiot. I really thought a lot about this one because my own small dogs have gone literally nationally and internationally with my husband and I for years. I would NOT allow anyone to tell me to put my dog in an overhead bin. I even poured over the airlines, policies and even reviews of dogs travelling beforehand to be sure something like this would never happen.

Furthermore, if this were a person even close to me, you betcha you wouldn't have been able to shut me up! That's the truth. However, I have never flown United and for the reason that they have been known previously to not be great in the pet dept.
