unlike Syrian hamsters, dwarf hamsters tend to be more social and can live in pairs/small groups w/o killing each other. however, I've never tried this and can't say if this is true w/ male dwarf hamsters. I say separate them right around the time they are weaned (not sure when this is for hamsters, but I'd say between 5-8 weeks old)
