Wet Pets!
Soooooo... we had a really bad storm yesterday, complete with heavy rain & 60mph+ winds. My Persian (longhaired) cat decided to go strolling in this weather, and came back looking like the "Swamp Thing". I snapped a few pictures, which I thought some of you would enjoy seeing. All I can say is, thank goodness my dog is shorthaired! Anyone else have funny weather-related animal pics to share?
(he brought home a whole tree on his butt - LOL)

I don't have any photos to share of my dogs wet, but I wanted to tell you that your cat is beautiful. What is his name?

AWWWWW he's so cute and furry. One of my cats likes water and when it's wet outside he lies down in the puddles or just the wet floor and s t r e t c h e s. He looks like he really enjoys it.

Thanks! His name is Cyrus... I found it in a name book, and it was described as the "Persian King who freed the Jews from slavery." Since he's a Persian with a Jewish momma, I thought it was too perfect... plus he thinks he's king of the house.

Actually, he always looks kinda ticked off... it's the "Persian face", LOL. But yeah, he wasn't too happy about being all wet - and neither was I!

Cyrus says thanks! He doesn't really like the water (like your cat - LOL!), but it doesn't bother him when it's raining lightly. All that fur protects him, like a wool coat, but it also absorbs the water terribly. He was already in need of a grooming, and now it's really time... he doesn't let me comb him, so I'm stuck with $80 trips to a professional every 6-8 weeks.

Lola? Who's Lola? I have a Lola, mother of 3 of my cats. And when I had my ferret, she was a Lola. And so was my paternal grandmother. My mother says my grandmother would kill me if she ever knew

I know - ouch!! A longhaired dog should cost more, but they charge extra for Cyrus... you see, he's bitten & scratched more than one groomer, and they have a "red flag" on his file. It also takes a long time to get out the mats, since they can get really bad. I could probably get it done cheaper at PetSmart (or similar), but I just don't trust them with him... I've heard too many horror stories, and Cyrus is definitely a tough client!
