New Spay/Neuter Ad...your thoughts?
A friend just emailed me this new ad by PETA. I'm not involved with PETA, but I found this ad interesting. What are your thoughts?

I guess it will get attention but it seems a little strange to me.

I think it is in horribly poor taste. I am an avid anti PETA person, but that ad would be just as tacky if the SPCA or anybody else was running it.

So far I'm going to assume all responses have been posted by women. I VERY curious as to what the men think. Personally, I found it interesting b/c I wondered how men would respond to the ad.

As usual! PETA is known worldwide for bad taste and killing the animals they claim to be protecting. Maybe PETA members should be spayed and muzzled!

Different, but if it gets people to spay and neuter their pets I'm all for it. I'm not involved with PETA either, and quite frankly think a good bit of them are on the nutso side, but I'm a big supporter of spay and neuter.
Female here BTW.

Another ad that I saw many years ago was very effective for me personally.
It was a huge pile of dogs, cats, kitties and pups. They were just lying there, some eyes open, some not. They were all dead.
They had all been unwanted, they had all been euthanized.

It's probably the best use of that particular celebrity, and that seems to be how many of PETA's ads are lately (celebrity-focused).
There is a shift in the animal rights movement towards a different way of educating. Guilt trips don't work, the idea now is to grab attention and make animal rights seem "cool". Like it or not, it's a fresh approach, the old way was no longer effective.
