Little Nell was hit by a car on March 28th....she was brought to the emergency vet by a passing vehicle. No owner came forward and the good samaritan could not afford the vet bills (which at the time was $1300) so she called us, Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland. We agreed to take Nell rather than let them put her down and pay the bills. Well she had a degloved front right leg and a fractured back. After $5000 in bills (yup that's right, $5000, we could use donations to help pay for this if anyone wants to help) she is on the mend and doing beautifully! I agreed to foster her because I am able to do sterile dressing changes and get her back and forth to the orthopedic vet for therapy, I get a lot of the broken dogs...LOL. These are our two american pit bull terriers! We wouldnt trade them for the world! The are like our children... Brooklyn is the brindle one, he is 1 year old... Destiny is the white and tan one, she is about 4 months.... The day after we got destiny I thought she sounded sick so my husband took her to the vet.. and THANK GOD we did because the vet told us that if we didnt bring her in when we did she would have died!.. The people we got her from told us she was 6 weeks old but the vet said she had to be about 4 or 5 weeks! I guess the people that we got her from werent taking care of her because she had almost every worm in the book, she hadnt eaten and she wasnt getting hardly any water!.... soooo she got a blood transfusion and they put her on some meds and she has been happy and healthy ever since!.. I dont really have any good storys about brooklyn! haha! he has always been a great dog, happy, healthy, smart and well behavied! We couldnt ask for more!!.... look at how small and sick desi looks in some of these pictures! and then see how much better and bigger she looks in some of them!....

This is Brooklyn and destiny running around the house a couple days after destiny came home from the vet!
