New airline for pets
For your information: "Pet Airways," is a new airline from New York to Los Angeles, with other cities in between, which will be operating as of July, 2009.

That's AWESOME! Check out their commercial.
I took my cat with me when I moved to Mexico, then back to the States. I flat out refused to put her in cargo, so I got a travel-approved carrier to bring her in the cabin with me. On both flights the flight attendants were SO nice and let me take her out and put her on my lap or on the empty seat beside me (only after asking those around me if they were allergic to, or frightened of, cats). She was such a good girl, curling up in the seat and being comfy. She stood on the seat with her paws on the back of it, looking over the top, and the people behind us were stunned to see a kitty peeking over the seats at them.
If I couldn't take my pet in the cabin with me, this is for sure how I would have them travel. GREAT idea!

Unfortunately, there are only a few large cities that they travel between. Hopefully, as they grow, IF they grow, they will expand.

What a fantastic idea!
I traveled with my cat to Los angeles, I could take him onboard with me in the cabin only if he fit in a cage designed to go under the seat. It was 7 inches tall! I managed to stuff kitty in the cage, then found he could only fit in first class, so I used my FF miles to upgrade. It was a direct flight and he was fine as long as he could see me. NO WAY would I have put him in the luggage hold.
I hope this Pet Airways is successful!

I think I'd rather fly Companion Air. I don't really see how this is much of an improvement over the cargo hold. Especially when they let your dog go potty by stuffing them in the toilet.

It's time for airlines to stop discriminating and let us buy tickets for our pets to sit next to us on real airplanes not the puddle jumper variety.
