We poured over pet name sites on the web, wrote down all that we liked, and narrowed it down. But in the end, we ended up naming our dog in a more sentimental fashion. When my husband and I first started dating, we rescued a dog who had fallen out of the back of a pickup going down the road (we found her owner and returned her). The dog's name was Riley. When we got our puppy almost 3 years ago, right after we got married, we decided we should name her Riley- because of that fond memory of helping the dog when we were first getting to know each other.
