The 29-year-old man was treated at St James's University Hospital, Leeds after the hairs embedded themselves in his cornea.

The man's right eye came under a hail of flying hairs as he rubbed a stain off the open glass tank of his Chilean Rose tarantula.

Many tarantulas "flick" hairs from their back legs and back as a defense against predators, they contain a natural irritant. People with alergies can be greatly affected. Years ago I had a pet store co-worker who would get big red welts on his skin if he came in contact with them.

Oh my friggin gosh, i knew i could not stand them for a reason, Yes i have allergies. Not my favorite thing, to want to come in contact with.
