Fair enough. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What I don't like seeing is opinion without any facts (such as Own J Roberts being a better school system, or that the property values would appreciate faster). You and I will not agree on this and that's fine. But please, spare me the guarantees on what I plan to do with my own life, especially how I plan to raise my children.

For anyone checking out the Phoenixville area take a look at the following links:

Philadelphia Magazine picked Phoenixville as one of the 10 best places to live in the Philadelphia area this year: Real Estate 2010: 10 Awesome Neighborhoods To Call Home - Philadelphia Magazine - phillymag.com

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has more information about Phoenixville on this classic towns website: Phoenixville | Classic Towns of Greater Philadelphia

If I'm not mistaken, Lansdowne is also a Classic Town LOL.

OJR ranked 2 places higher than P-ville schools in a statewide comparison...it was the last time I could get the rankings for free but I have no reason to believe this has not persisted.

And from this little gem: Bucks & Montgomery Living Magazine » Blog Archive » Destination: Phoenixville, PA

"I remember standing at the end of Bridge Street, looking up the road at empty storefronts. There were drug dealers. There were prostitutes. People didn’t go downtown at night. But the community stuck together, and cleaned it up.”

ive been reading pman and orrmobl comments and i may say that i live on bridge street. im 18 and lived my teenage years in pville nd from what i gott out of this lil two sided town is nothing. the kids in the local schools are rough and some even from the worst places in the big citie.thats were the crime in pville come in. sure theirs resturarnt on downtown bridge street but streets off of bridge street like prospect and main street are a lil sketchy. their are open air drug sales but u just dont know. i went to school at pville high and noticed that their were two clicks or what u would call wanna be gangs. one click was from north side of town warrior(over the bridge, mostly black) and the other kids from downtown p-ville(south side goons). they would corrupt the town by fighting in streets and robbing and assualts. so word of advise, go to collegeville or limerick or royersford.

you have to wonder what the massive downsizing at wyeth is going to do to collegeville. phoenixville has excellent access to great valley which has the lowest office vacancy rate in the region. c-ville is overpriced. if pville isn't right you may as well look in a different region. am I ovestating the influence of a company that employs 6000 people and is really the only other major employer outside the college?
I grew up in the area and hung out with friends at ursinus. meh.
it's also worth remembering pville is in chester county, the wealthiest, fastest growing county with the lowest unemployment rate.
