Hi all!

I am hoping to find a place in PA for an outdoor wedding on a LOW budget.
  • Ideally this place would have the following perks:
  • beautiful scenery, possibly a lake to swim in?
  • allow us to do our own cook-out / have a kitchen where we can make our own food
  • allow alcohol
  • have a pavilion or some sort of covered area in case of rain (a barn/ large tent/pavilion would be GREAT!)
It would even more amazing if there were some accommodations there or nearby - camping is fine for a lot of our friends, but family would probably prefer a bed and plumbing.

We'd love to keep everyone in one place for the ceremony and reception. We are very low-key and trying to keep things as low-cost as possible, so not looking for places that advertise themselves (and hence charge more) as wedding specialists.

Basically we want to have a big picnic with our loved ones, play some games, and maybe have a campfire.

I've checked out a few camps and state parks, but most of them don't allow alcohol, and we'd really love to have some champagne, wine and beer available.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Thanks!

I had my wedding at Curtis Arboretum in Wyncote which meets some but not all of your criteria.

First off, congrats on getting engaged and all set to be married!

As for suggestions...after looking at your list, and having just had an office awards ceremony at FDR Park's boat pavilion, I thought of that place... Apparently, someone else did too in the link below. There is even a picturesque gazebo next to it, where apparently lot of South Philly newly weds go to take their pictures.

THey also mention the boat houses along the beautiful Schuylkill Boathouse Row.

The best might be the Water Works but that might be expensive...and it wouldn't meet all your requirements...but it would be damn picturesque! hehe
