So I am wondering what is the best route of transportation when traveling from South Philly and/or Center City to North Philly? I am trying to budget and see how much transportation would cost per month but I first need to figure out what is the best way to get from point A to point B (however, I know nothing about Philly transportation, so I need some assistance!) thanks!

Where in north Philly? Most likely the Broad Street subway.

I would say Broad and Girard would be close enough

Yep, what newmarlig said- Broad St. line is your best bet... by FAR better than trying to drive that route! Philly pub. trans. is pretty easy to figure out. You can go to septa.org. There is a map for each route and on the first page there is a trip planner where you can enter start/end points and it will give you route options.

No, there is a stop at Girard.

SEPTA | Broad Street Line Map

If you move to Washington Square (as you questioned about on another thread) you would get on at Walnut/Locust and go north.

The SEPTA website will give you info about fares, etc.
