Hi everyone. I was not sure where to post this at. This is my last hope to retrieve our Canon camera that was left in a taxi cab in Philly.
My husband and son took a cab from the Embassy Suites in Center City to go tour the Penitentiary Monday morning (8/2/10.) My husband left the camera in the cab. What's worse, he paid cash, and cannot remember the name of the cab company.
I have called the cab companies in Philly (it took 2 days,) and the police dept, but no luck. I also tried the Philly Parking Authority.
Can anyone give me suggestions of other things to try. This was a special family vacation, and it makes me cry to think those pictures are lost forever. Many thanks to you all.
Stephanie

If you haven't done so already, post this to the Philadelphia Lost & Found section of CraigsList. If you can find a picture online of the same type of camera, post that too.

Thank you for the suggestion! I just listed it on there. I know it is probably a worthless cause, but I just have to try. Thanks again!

Hi Stephanie, did you find your camera? I also lost my camera last night (8/7/10) in a Philadelphia cab. I've tried calling cab companies but no luck yet. Did you have luck with anything?

Alex

Hi Alex. I wish I could give you some good news, but my camera seems gone for good. There are just too many crooked people out there I guess. I really put a lot of work into finding the camera, but no luck. I hope you can get yours back. Did you pay the cab with a credit card, or get a receipt?
My husband and I went out on Sunday and purchased another camera. He is considering the situation a life lesson.
Good luck to you!
Stephanie

I 'm going to guess it is gone for good.
I left my phone in a Philly cab back in May, and when I talked to the woman at the PPA, she said that often the cab drivers say they haven't found anything, and sometimes it will later turn out that they had found it
I never got my phone back, but I hope y'all have better luck! Here's the link to the PPA person I called.

Ha ha! Actually, I did post an award on my craigslist listing. Would happily pay an award to get at least the memory card back.
