My husband just got a job working in Center City and we are about to be relocated from Wake Forest, NC. I have a 4year old and 10 month old and am desperately in need of community and preschool info so that we can move ASAP. I just got my daughter into St. David's Episcopal Preschool in Wayne was this a good thing? Any information would be appreciated as I don't know where to start!

Hi, Kirsten958. Wayne is a great choice...it is, however, a little further out than you would need to be. For example, if you want to be on the Main Line, you would have been closer to the city in Wynnewood, Ardmore, Merion, Bala Cynwyd, etc. If you still have time, these are certainly communities which are to be reckoned with and they are only about 20 minutes via commuter rail from Philadelphia.

If you need any other info about the area just shout it out!

Also realize that its an expensive area. Very nice, so you've picked well, but expensive. Coming from North Carolina, I would guess Main Line prices could be double what they were in many areas of Wake Forest, so be prepared for some possible sticker shock.

Wake Forest is around upper middle class, so it shouldn't be much of a shock.

I know there are more expensive homes there, that's why I said "possible", but I have a friend from near there who says stuff like "that house would be $250k at home". And she tends to be talking about a nice size home on a nice size lot, when she's pointed it out. So, I just thought I'd mention it. You're not going to get a 2500 sqft, 4 bedroom house for $250k on the Main Line, you'd be hard press to get it for $500k. If that's not sticker shock, great, but didn't think it would hurt to mention it just in case.
