I have got a contract with Pfizer so I am moving from Durham, NC around end of next week. I have never been to PA. I am leaving my family back in Durham and will probably fly back home every other week to spend a few days there. I am not sure how long my contract will last so I need a month to month. I don't really care if the place is furnished but I want something nice and close to good resturants as unfortunately I am very picky when it comes to food.
From a little bit of research (I mean looking at google map), it looks like downtown is the place I need to be but the commute will be horrible and long. So it looks the only other choice is somewhere close to Wegmans in Collegeville. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated.

ah, the old wyeth facility in collegeville. phoenixville has some decent restaurants and a revived downtown and is the closest thing to a decent scene up there. downtown is certainly the most interesting, the commute sucks 50m to an hour) but you could take the train to the airport pretty easily from there. lastly, conshohocken might be a nice compromise, it's near 476 (to the airport) 76 and the train to philly (runs late on weekends), and is halfway to collegeville. It also has a small scene of its own.

Sounds like a roommate situation with another professional would work as well. I think for furnished you typically pay more and I know some apartments are month to month locally but I believe they are harder to find.

Good luck! I know coming from down south to PA is a huge change, my b/f came from SC to here and that was about 6 years ago, we've since recently purchased a home and are here to stay. I'm originally from FL. PA is going to be what you make of it. There is plenty to do year round, so just ask around! Good luck with the move!

I would say Phoenixville is probably your best bet as far as night life. Conshohocken is a close second but further away and actually has less of a downtown than Phoenixville...West Chester would also work fairly well...maybe better than Conshy even...
