This is the truth. In the past, I've lived on the bottom floor, I've lived on the top floor (the only apt on the top floor), and right now I live in a middle floor and i've never not heard other people. Where I live now, I don't own a tv. But I know commercial jingles because of my neighbors tv. Pretty much, that's city living.

But also, it is unfair of them to ask you to be quiet at 9:30. I'm pretty sure 11 pm is universal "quiet hour."

They can ask if it's continuous noise. If I want to relax at 9:30pm and can't do that because some fool is upstairs working out over top of me knowing we have hardwood floors then I;m going to knock on your door.
