Revitalization!!!!!!!
I search through the internet and I came across some of the Haters out there, that do not approve of the Stadium being built in Chester. I wonder why they think that way. Do they fear change? Or do they fear Chester?
Chester attracted over 3.5 Million people in 2007. Both Delaware Park and Dover Downs combined came close to that number.
Chester will be known all over the World!
Delaware County has almost the same population as the whole state of DE!
Chester is in a Renewal period, demolishing hundreds of acres of decay. And the decay was being demolished way before the MLS approved the Philly Team.
I'm tired of people comparing Chester to Camden!
Chester has a population of only 36,000 plus, right now!!!
Yes! Chester has cheap land. But in 2 to 3 years the value of it's dirt will be the same or more than our fellow neighbors.
My friends that are afraid of Chester! Ask your self why would anybody invest in Chester.
The answer is it's time for change.

There are like 250,000 area kids playing organized soccer in this region. Maybe 1% of them are from inner city neighborhoods like Chester. Soccer has become a suburban phenomenon and Soccer Moms just arent comfortable with Chester and with good reason. The sad reality is that Chester is a poor city with lots of crime. I dont see how you can expect a suburban soccer base to do handstands about a new soccer stadium in Chester. If the stadium was built in Havertown or West Chester I think there would be more excitement, more buzz.
I personally think this is more about a politically backed manuever allowing a developer to cash in big time on some land, more than it is about soccer.
That being said I'm glad to see development along the riverfront and in Chester. I would have been opposed to a soccer only stadium here but I like the idea of office space, townhomes, apartments and retail. It should be interesting to see how this all works out. Chester is a very small city that you could envision gentrifying pretty easily. The waterfront in this region has been absolutely abused for centuries so its a nice change to see people finally being allowed to live on the riverfront. Then the $64,000 question is if Chester does gentrify over the years what happens to the 36,000 desperately poor residents of Chester/ where are they going to end up?

What happened to the Middle Class?
Most of the poor of Chester will be scatter all over the city and around the region in a couple of years.
Chester used to have 5 Projects, they only have 1 Project left right now!
1. Mc Caferty Village- Leveled
2. Lamokin Village- Leveled
3. William Penn- Leveled
4. Fair Grounds- Leveled
5. Bennett Homes- The only project
Investors are buying Chester real estate like a Bird catching a worm after a rain storm.
Every person in America can go to college, trade school etc. If your Mom and Dad cannot afford it, look for a Loan or a Grant. I'm from Chester I was able to go to College.
America doesn't owe any one nothing. What was done in the past was done in the past.
Most American's are a pink slip away from being poor anyway!
In America today, you have the Rich and the Poor, The Middle class is slowly disappearing. Most of their jobs were sent over sea's! (NAFTA)
You decide what path to live, whether it's Illegal or Legal.
To be Honest, I love Chester! But I think they should of leveled the whole city years ago and started over from scratch.

Winning teams don't need a venue!
Concentrate on the product displayed on the field, and the location will not matter. I am a sports fan. I play, coach, and follow European leagues. I am a fan of the Italian soccer league. I am watching fantastic games these days. Coppa EUFA concentrates on putting the talent on the field and they leave the construction of the venues to those who do research on sites. As a soccer fan, I would like to see the MISL work with one of the premier leagues in Europe, and have teams play each other and the game should count (not friendly games). We want to see the real product on the field and not the benches play! Could you imagine going to Chester watching Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus? Have each MISL team play 4 games (home-away) against these teams and watch the people come to see them. The corporate sponsors will pay the bills, but the fans are the promoters and supporters. They are the ones who buy shirts, coffee mugs, etc. And those are the ones reading the billboards when the ball goes out of balance. Don't worry about the venues. Chester will be fine, and because the site is less expensive, the cost of the tickets should be cheap enough for soccer moms to treat their future superstars to a professional game or two.

I heard they are selling season tickets already
If so, where can I get them? From what I have heard major soccer teams will be playing here. If and when this opens we will be going..... Coming from a soccer mom in King of Prussia.

I'm not sure what you mean by "major soccer teams" but, yes, the other MLS teams will be playing our MLS team as of 2010 and there will be friendlies and other games at the new stadium.
They aren't selling tickets yet however you can purchase a reservation to purchase tickets when they become available. The reservations are $50 per seat which will be credited to your season ticket purchase, whenever that process begins. I believe the order of ticket reservations now determines the order of seat selection when ticket sales actually begin.
See http://www.mlsphilly2010.com/ and/or the sons of ben website.

I DONT KNOW WHERE YOU GOT YOUR INFO ON THE "PROJECTS" BUT ILL SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT.
1. Mc Caferty Village - Now Wellington Ridge (Newer Projects)
2. Lamokin Village- Now Chatham Estates (Newer Projects)
3. William Penn- Still William Penn just newer
4. Fair Grounds- NOT EVEN IN THE CITY!! STILL IN CHESTER TOWNSHIP
5. Bennett Homes- Still as ghetto as ever
This is not to mention the very ghetto areas of the city. As of today the city had 10 murders this year, Last year had nearly 30... Third highest in the state behind Philly and Pittsburg!!

A Project- is a dwelling in a city or town that the majority of it's occupants live on assisted living.
Not the new bldgs that took over the pojects( Projects ) that is mentioned above.
Where are you gathering your information?
That is a lie! Flat out!
Chatham Estates aka LV- A peaceful neighborhood with mostly peaceful senior citizens! Lovely
Wellington Ridge aka Mccaferty Village- Mostly privately owned.
William Penn- Way better than it use to be!!! Yes Sir!
No Offense! But the Fair Grounds is still considered Chester, PA!!!!
Bennett Homes- I mentioned that this is the only project!
Yes Chester has 10 murders, that number is lower than the last 5 years!
The City is getting better,
Before you try to diss me, show me the proof first!
"Third highest in the state behind Philly and Pittsburg!!"
Pittsburgh---LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The idea of a stadium in Chester doesn't scare me at all. It does seem like a political favor, but a major league soccer team in Philly was needed, better to have a team in a bad neighborhood than to not have one at all.
What does concern me a bit is that it isn't as accessible by public transportation as the South Philly stadiums. I've never been to the Chester waterfront and I don't want to rush to judgement before I've been through there personally.
