Default What ever happened to the pretzel people?

I remember as a kid getting pretzels off intersections.. then they disappeared.

There was the news story, but were they shut down, or did Herb Denenberg kill the whole act?

Yeah, it seems like it's gotten a lot harder to get a proper pretzel in Philly since I was a kid. Bums me out.
I try to bring home a raft of pretzels from the factory on Washington Ave every time I'm in town, and then freeze them right away. Overkill? I think not.

we used to kill those pretzels back in the day. I forgot all about 'em. Good nostalgic thread. Nowadays I normally just get my pretzles from the truck vendors and such, but my friends girlfriend makes the best pretzels I've ever tasted

They had to many stories of people peeing then touching the pretzels...It was to much information.... There are so many pretzel stores that they can't compete.

Wait, are there stores dedicated to mostly pretzels? I remember the pretzel carts from when my family would visit Philly years ago.. sucks if they're all gone. DC has them too, sorta, but they're just general snack carts with heated-up Superpretzels, pretty disappointing =/

Remember when Reading PA was called the pretzel capital of the world?? There was even an annual "Pretzel Bowl" football game.
