Advice on moving to Glenolden , pa....Is the place safe???? (Philadelphia: apartments, crime)

Dear All,

I need to move to place around Philly,with my family...I found Glenolden,PA ( Delaware county)
Any advice on moving to "Glenolden, PA" . How safe is the Place ? I was checking Contemporary Village apartments. Any Advice on the area would greatly help...
Can you suggest any other areas also around Philly, which has easy metro access to Philly...and also near to Philly airport...

I used to live in Norwood, which is right next door. I think Glenolden is a bit nicer, overall. It seemed pretty safe to me at the time, but that was 20+ years ago. Still, a look at current crime statistics for Glenolden also suggests a pretty safe neighborhood.

While this isn't one of the poshest suburbs of Philadelphia, it is an older suburb, with more of a community feeling to its arrangement: parks, sidewalks, and a fair number of non-cookie-cutter houses. Or it used to, anyway. I'm not sure what it's like these days. However, I doubt all traces of the earlier community design have been obliterated.

I'm from Norwood as well..live in Maine now. It is safe..most trouble would be caused by teenagers being stupid.You're not getting the crim and violence you would in Philly. It's about a 15 minute drive to the airport from there. I've been gone from there for about 8 years now but my whole family still lives in DelCo. Norwood, Prospect Park, etc. It all seems a bit run down to me when I was down a few weeks ago. Are school systems a concern?

Look into Ridley Park..it's a bit nicer in most parts.

my gf is from aldan which is basically next to glenolden. It's safe for sure.
