Default Commuting from Chalfont, PA to North Broad Street, Philadelphia

We are relocating to Chalfont, PA from San Diego. I will be working for Temple Hospital on North Broad Street. I hear the driving commute is a killer on I-76. Any idea of approximate driving time from Chalfont to N. Broad Street? I can't rely on mapquest. I am estimating between 60-90 minutes.

Factoring in the driving commute, I'd prefer to also take Septa then but the schedules between Chalfont and North Broad St. are so infrequent and I'd either have to leave work at 2:30pm (which I know they won't go for) or leave at 5:45 pm - leaving me to get home around 7pm. That leaves very little family time with wife & kids at night.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Why Chalfont, PA? Can you move a little closer to Temple?

Grew up in the area and settling by the immediate family now. We bought property there before we had new jobs lined up. We wanted to buy before the market started to go up with rates and spring/summer housing prices generally increases with the warmer weather. No option to move closer to Temple. So trying to get feedback on the best alternatives and typical driving commute.

From Chalfont if driving I would take Limklin to 309 to Cheltenhem Ave to Broad St - the route takes you through some interesting areas of N Philly but then again Temple Hosp is in an interesting area. Honestly I would think 60-70 minutes

About ten years ago I used to go from Montgomeryville to CC and would use this route. Lost of lights but it moves pretty welll actually even at rush hour

I agree with the above poster. That is going to be the best way to get to Temple from where you are.

In the event that the OP will be checking the route via Mapquest, for example, this should be spelled Limekiln (as in Limekiln Pike).

I need to stop typing fast and get the spell checker working on here

Limekiln is actually also designated route 152 in this area as well

And although the lights at some intersections will be a pain, maybe two lights to get through, this is a very direct (almost stright line run) and will be very consistent in time; and the 309 portion has recently been improved which is the middle part of the commute will move pretty well these days. You may even be closer to 60 minutes and cant see a route quicker at rush hour. If you are off hours it may be possible in 45-50 minutes this route.
